Product Description

Elevit: In preparation for pregnancy, during pregnancy and throughout lactation the need for vitamins and minerals increases greatly. Elevit will also assist in the prevention of dietary iron deficiency. When taken in the early stage of pregnancy, Elevit has been shown in clinical trials to be beneficial in pregnancy and reduce the likelihood of neural tube defects in the developing foetus. Where possible, take Elevit for at least 3 months before pregnancy, and throughout pregnancy and the breastfeeding period.
What Ingredients do my baby and I need?
Some key vitamins and minerals recommended are folic acid to help prevent neural tube defects, such as spina bifida, iron which helps carry oxygen in the blood and B group vitamins for energy throughout all stages of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Many pregnancy supplements are regular multivitamins that have been slightly adjusted, Elevit however has important ingredients that are beneficial through all stages of pregnancy. It’s important to take Elevit when you are trying or are pregnant, as specific vitamin needs increase during these stages in the development of your baby.

Why Elevit is essential
A child’s needs come before they’re born. That’s why if you’re trying to get pregnant, it’s important to take Elevit. (Ideally, at least three months prior to conception). Elevit has been proven to greatly reduce the risk of birth defects like spina bifida in unborn children.3-5 It also has a higher degree of folate (800μg) than most other pregnancy multivitamin supplements.
There’s strong evidence to suggest that Elevit maybe more effective than just folic acid alone. Unlike other pregnancy supplements, Elevit is proven in a real clinical trial involving nearly 5,000 women.
When becoming pregnant your need for additional nutrients can increase up to 333%!
Elevit contains many nutrients, including the recommended daily dose of folic acid (800μg) and other essential nutrients such as iron, zinc, vitamin C as well as B group vitamins for energy, all important at this time.
Taken with a healthy diet, Elevit contains the essential vitamins a mother-to-be needs!
I'm a new mum, should I continue to take Elevit?
During the birth you may have experienced blood loss so your iron levels may be low. This is where Elevit continues to be important with its specialised formulation of key ingredients. Iron helps prevent fatigue all too common in new mums, with vitamin C aiding in the absorption of the iron. The B group vitamins are for energy which may also be affected after pregnancy, while the zinc helps support your immune system.
