Worms
Threadworms are an intestinal parasite passed on to humans when eggs are unknowingly swallowed. The eggs stick to the fingers and are easily transferred to the mouth, food or other people. Bedclothes, furniture, floors and other places in the home can become contaminated with threadworm eggs and the eggs can survive for days or weeks.
Symptoms of worms include itching around the anus especially at night, restless sleep, irritability and loss of appetite. Worming tablets are an effective solution for killing threadworms, though do not kill the eggs, therefore repeat treatment after two weeks may be required. Treating the entire family is often necessary for a cure. Washing hands before eating is a simple way to prevent any eggs under fingernails being ingested. Our pharmacist recommends the Worms Complete Care solution.
