Product Description

Blackmores Travel Calm Ginger, when taken prior to travelling, helps to reduce symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, vertigo and cold sweats associated with motion sickness. It may help reduce the symptoms of gastrointestinal upset from other causes and may have a settling effect on the stomach. The anti-emetic action of ginger is believed to be due to local gastro-intestinal effects - possibly a partial inhibition of gastric motility.
Research has supported the use of ginger in morning sickness, and hyperemesis gravidum (severe vomiting and nausea of pregnancy, which normally requires hospitalisation). The strong anti-emetic action of ginger is considered to be due to the non-volatile pungent principles in ginger (the gingerols and shogaols).
