Diarrhoea

Diarrhoea is characterised by loose, watery stools occuring at an increased frequency to what is normal for that person. Diarrhoea can be caused by infection, or by chronic problems like an intestinal disease. Diarrhoea may be accompanied by abdominal pain, bloating and nausea. Anti-diarrhoeal medicines will only treat the symptoms and should be accompanied by rehydration fluids. Generally food intake should be restricted for 12-24 hours, and following that, bland and dry foods should be eaten for the next day. Our pharmacist recommends the Diarrhoea Complete Care solution.
